I am a member of the commitee and I have passed on the information that we was given re the signing of certain players but if some of you wish not to believe what we pass on then we are wasting our time

Look T,D I wasn't saying you but there is that much hearsay and guessing you just don't know who to believe and if that's first hand info then I'd like to know where the rest has gone

Like most supporters I have been very critical of the way this season has gone but now that I have heard it "straight from the horses mouth", my opinions have been changed. Paul Cooke was responsible for the signing of players and he was told money was available but he decided not to use it.Carl Hall signs the contracts on behalf of the Dons but he has tried to get some quality players to come since it all went pear shaped. As to next season, read the minutes of the last meeting and you will see things are already being put in place to put out a strong team next season This includes a commitment from Club Doncaster that funds will be available for signing quality players. If what was said at the meeting turns out to be untrue then that will be the time to call for harsh criticism and heads to roll.
I thought we had turned the corner with the win over Hunslet but against Halfax we got worse and worse as the match went on especially down the right wing which had obviously been targetted. You can't play without decent half backs as we all recognise. In the meantime COYD.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

Re: Dons v Fax : Tue Jul 21, 2015 10:51 pm
The club has to say something in difficult situations like this ... but for me it is nonsense.
How daft is it to say we have a plan A and plan B.
Plan A is dead in the water ... when they said it it was dead in the water ... I trust that they didn't waste too much time on it!

If it was me, I'd have apologised and said ... "If we go down, we are coming straight back up, that's a pledge, so stick with us."

Instead we have the appealing plan B. Not this season when we needed it, but next . With a season's evidence of how good our planning is at present.

We hardly ever get top players. We get cast-offs and players that are not anywhere near maturity and not able to take on seasoned quality players.
It's all a bit Steptoe and Son for my liking
A cart load of used false teeth anyone?

How about signing someone we have heard of for next season, that would be a good start.

Re: Dons v Fax : Tue Jul 21, 2015 10:54 pm
I'm really annoyed about what has happened this season and I just don't buy the story about misjudging the league. There are enough people at the club with knowledge of the game for them to have been able to see that the squad wasnt good enough early on in the season. There were several people on here who predicted it so the club should have been able to.

Then to just wait until we are all but relegated before making any changes is criminal. Even within the last few weeks they have had the nerve to come out and say they have a plan ready for if we stay up, it's ridiculous.

I know we are now all placing our hopes on them bouncing straight back up next season but I'm not confident in that happening. I think the club are setting themselves up for a disaster if they can't deliver on this.

It's not just the team, Everything this season has been a joke. Moving the kick off to 2pm to accommodate the Eagles was a mistake. We now have a situation where during the last 10-20 minutes of our match we have fans for the second game wandering about choosing their seats. There's more atmosphere between the two away teams who aren't even playing each other than there is between us and our opponents. (OT but would it be possible to some how have the dug outs on the same side of the pitch as the fans?)

Fair play to the fans who are still going home or away every week and disagree with others like me moaning about the situation but I think there's been so much go wrong that we are entitled to a moan. I know some people are of the opinion that if you don't go every week then your not a true supporter but at the end of the day If your not enjoying watching the team then there's no point wasting your time and money because of a misguided loyalty.

At this stage I doubt I'll be attending many or any matches next year, I might not even bother using my season ticket for the remainder of this year. I'm not the only one either, this time plenty of diehards are losing interest. The club don't seem to care, why should we?

I wrote to Carl a couple of seasons ago suggesting there would be a better atmosphere if the subs benches were on our side of the pitch. he said he'd have a word with the groundsman to see if it could be sorted. The groundsman must still be working on it.

The interchange man is waving pieces of paper to no one at the moment. There is little connection with the players when they come off and this can't help anyone. Compare the Keepmoat to Castle Park. It certainly helps the atmosphere at the game when the benches are near the fans.

I realise this subject may seem of little consequence at the moment considering all the other problems we've got but I agree with Prodigal. Many little things cost next to nothing to do, and we need to get them right too.

Would like Paul Cooke's take on that statement and if it's true his reasons behind the decision he made.

Because towards the middle of last season (June-2014) Paul made the following quote-
http://www.totalrl.com/doncaster-planning-2015-already/

That suggested a good deal of forward planning on behalf of the club----What happened.

If they told you we'd be in super league next season you'd believe it?

they tell you what they want to keep everyone on their side. They've had all season to put things right and haven't even bothered.
its just gone from bad to worse to worse to worse.
they must be putting a hell of a lot of money in to this plan b, that's all you hear plan b, plan b. but no one knows what plan b is.
I don't know where they think the crowds are going to come from next season,so there'll be no income from that. And the season after we may well be playing Thorne Moorends Marauders or Rossington Hornets if we're lucky.

How can you just totally forget the season we have just had? if id have performed like that at my work id be long gone! i think before club doncaster give us some rubbish about a massive season next year we fans should get to the bottom on why we have been lied to and mugged off in this one, but once again its wed teatime and we have'nt had any reaction or interviews regarding our match last sunday ( im pretty the only time the website gets updated early in the week is when carl is begging for ticket sales!) its almost embarrassing how poorly and amateurish this club is run.
