Leigh away : Fri Sep 10, 2021 7:26 am
I expect a Wakey win and hopefully by a good number. However its Leighs last home game and they will deffo be up for it.
I see the club are making a special effort to encourage some extra support by having a fans day and reduced ticket prices, nice gesture that.

Yeah, it's a tricky one for us, as you say last game and all that. Also, I'm sure we will have been pencilled in as the team they had the most chance of beating and they very nearly did! If we win this then it really does show how far we have come but in a way, I wouldn't begrudge it to the Leigh fans, though I'd prefer it wasn't us.

Get your point about a promotional event but I think we should concentrate on next season now. I do believe we should be more pr-active but to use that awful term this season is now a dead rubber where that is concerned.

With Tom Johnstone been rested I wonder who will get the left wing slot.

Likely to be Senior but would be good to see Murphy in for his SL birth.

Either way I hope we go there and give a good account of ourselves.

That's good to hear, no point risking him in these matches. I would let him finish the season now and go on his holidays, fresh and ready for a big pre-season.

Yeah that’s what I meant by saying TJ rested.

From the interview I got the impression it will likely be Senior who will be left wing but would be nice to see Murphy get a debut.

Yup, the word rested is very positive. It means to me at least that he's k to play but why risk it.

My god he's unlucky, that tackle was a freak that would have knocked anyone out as were the others. I don't think he's being targetted I just think he's been blighted in the last few years.

Hopefully next season his luck will change, I hope so because I don't think we've seen the best of him yet.

He’s showing no symptoms and from the interview my takeaway was that he can play but the club are purely being cautious and resting him. Right call imo.

Yes totally agree he’s been a bit unlucky with innocuous head knocks this year. Take the games he’s missed out from them and he’d have played almost a full season.

Last few games he’s been hitting his straps and been hitting some valuable form. If he can take that into next season with a bit of luck we will see the best of him I’m sure.

It’s no coincidence we’ve been having more success on the left as he’s been stringing some games together. His yardage has been incredible punching into the line and even more pleasing is that defensively he’s put in some absolute belters lately.

Looks like it will be Senior on the day who will get another shot at LW. Was hoping to see Murphy myself.

We must cut down the space offered to Mellor and stop Sidlow who is their biggest forward threat in my opinion.
