They don't need a striker for that. They just need to get it in everyone's head that when they've created an opportunity to shoot, they do actually shoot. Right now instead of shooting when they've created a chance they try and thread another pair of passes to create an even better chance.

Sir Alex Ferguson is walking along the touchline, when a woman sticks out her arm and asks him to sign it. Fergie goes 'yeah sure', signs her arm and carries on.
Then a woman lifts up her shirt, gets her breasts out and asks 'can you sign my breasts please?'. Again, Fergie says 'yeah sure', signs away and moves on.
Then a woman jumps out in front of him, strips naked, spreads her legs and asks 'can you sign it please?'
Fergie replies 'sorry love, you've got the wrong guy. It's Benitez who signs the c*#ts'.

If BGS had decided to get back into position instead of standing around sulking like the massive girl he is then I doubt Porto would have been able to take the quick free kick in the first place.

TBH if he was getting back in position then he probably wouldn't have been able to do a thing anyway. To stop the goal he'd have needed to pretty much stand over the ball so the attacker couldn't play the ball to a team mate. He'd have been booked for that, but obviously that would have been better than giving away the goal.

It is an issue that needs to be sorted out IMO. If given a choice attackers would always choose for the referee to allow them to take a quick free kick, but if they do that then the opposition will just have to plant someone on the ball to stop someone from doing that. Then we'll end up with bookings galore, arguments because attackers are getting angry over being stopped from taking quick free kicks, arguments because some attackers are deliberately playing the ball with a defender there just to get him booked and all matter of shamozzles.
