As for the game, I thought it was a great game.....Spain put that much needed spark to all the passing. That was all that me and the critics really wanted - The passing is a good thing, but the toothlessness of it all before tonight made it frustrating to watch.....Remind me a bit of a top class boxer who seems reluctant to exert themselves against inferior foe, but once involved in a real challenge, simply rises to the occasion and shows their true class.
Bit harsh on Italy....Prandelli went bold with early subs, but then went pear-shaped when Motta had to go off almost immediately....Wouldn't have changed the outcome, but 4-0 and Spain playing with a one-man advantage for 30 minutes probably made the winners look even more convincing than it probably would have been.
