Albert missed all of last season I believe so it’s getting quite long time since he’s played in anger. One assumes it will take time for him to get up to speed.
I think the squad we had out on Sunday is pretty much our best squad. Injuries are inevitable and it’s to be hoped the younger players will improve with experience but my guess is to get out of the hole we are in we’ll need a couple of extra Championship level players to come in. I suspect that will be doable as there are quite a few players who by May will be wanting an opportunity for regular game time to a sufficient degree to risk the nightmare of living in London for a couple of months as opposed to down the road from their mum.
Appreciate Dalton is unlikely to be part of a competitive Championship team, although he apparently is a great personality and good speaker and sounds like exactly the type of player to be interviewed/interact at the 15th May event I mentioned on another thread a few minutes ago.
Wellington seemed the obvious best player missing from Sunday, one who would be in the best 17. Take your point if he's been out that long, then he may not add much for a while. A guess it's still a positive that he expects to be in contention for a team place within a month.
