Go back to Fitzpatrick’s interview. No way will Navarette be the main prop signing, if he is signed.

I think it works the other way round. Wigan are one of the best in Super League at producing talent and that's why they can give opportunities to younger players. Those players then displace others, who are farmed off to other SL clubs like us.

The players getting displaced also includes their own home grown players, when a better home grown player emerges through the ranks later on.

They have the talent conveyor belt to sustain that kind of healthy churn. Whereas we on the other hand produce so few players who are even SL quality, that guys who are just average SL starters will likely hang around in the first team for several years.

What about all our supposed superior resources that we always hear about - how come we can't land a couple of big marquees in the off season?

I'll probably get a tsunami of scorn for saying it, but rather than the likea of Mr X NRL-looks-great-on-youtube-omg-look-at-the-English-weather we should bang an offer into Saints for.Kyle Amor.

No.frills, no baggage, straight up and down reliable forward in the Carvell mode and.no risk whatsoever.

We are limited, as are all Super League clubs, to two Marquee Signings. For 2020 these will be Austin and Widdop. We can sign a player who has never played League professionally under the New Talent Pool Dispensation rule for £0 year one and 50% of their true value year two - this would apply to Burrell.

Even if we had unlimited resources all we could do is to pay transfer fees (which we have done) or to provide the best training and welfare facilities to players (but we couldn't extend this to subsidised accommodation as this would be classed as payment in kind).

Short of that the best draw would be a chance of silverware.
