2011 scapegoat? : Mon Nov 22, 2010 4:58 pm
Who is it to be this year?

Ade Gardner seems to be a firm favourite, Meli having sidestepped after not costing us the last Grand Final.

Jon Wilkin is also coming up the rails in a big way with a lot of posts about his lack of Sculthorpeness towards the end of the season.

Or will it be one of the new boys? LMS for being a Southerner? Perry for missing a lot of games or Shenton for not being Jamie Lyon/Paul Newlove?

My money is on Wilkin. A player I really rate.

Eastmond for purposely breaking his ankles coz he doesn't want to play unless he gets his own spotlight to follow him round the pitch.
I hope he comes back and plays a stormer to shut the moaners up.

McManus for dropping the town name from the badge and offering free bowls of scouse to all new fans.
I'd have a bowl.

Things I learned on 11/08/12

Gareth Hock can't pass
Gareth Hock can't run
Gareth Hock can't fight

I'm assured he can snort a line of coke the size of a Mecca dauber though.

I thought his pass before the Dixon try in the GF was worth the price of admission alone. Although i am a wire and i watched it on the tele. He obviuosly has class.

How about Wheeler ? just signed a new deal, shown potential in flashes, always crocked. Sounds perfect for the role of scapegoat.

Kyle Eastmond or James Graham, once they announce they wont be signing new deals

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

Yes but getting caught by Andy Coley was even better. :D

He did let in a try, though, so I'd say Meli is still up there in the scapegoat stakes.

If I were coach Id get rid of Wilkin, he had a good game v Leeds about 3 years ago and has been in the team on the strength of it.

He was gash in the grand final, a few knock-ons and missed tackles, but then again, most of the team did.

Make or break season for his Saints career IMHO

Make or break season? He's been a regular for 8 years and has won 7 major trophies with us.

Another simpleton who can't disassociate Wilkin's performances in the back row from his performances when forced into the halves during injury crises.

You'd fit in well on the terraces here at Saints.
