I don't honestly care.
Regardless of some of their fans, it could so easily have been us several months ago in their boat.
The reality is that without a new stadium, neither club is likely to prosper or be able to sustain the cap and perhaps there is a recognition from Wakefield fans that they cannot continue doing the 'Cirque de Wakey'. In that they can't keep starting from the ground and trying to spend money they don't have to compete.
Nevertheless, I hope that they can find a solution to prosper; as much as they are our rivals, they have a lot of heritage as a club and that is much more important than anything else.
And would we benefit from Wakey demotion? Probably in terms of players and supporters in the Wakey district; but from a financial perspective/derby factor, it would be one less game with a big crowd. Give me Wakey over Salford, Catalan, London or Huddersfield anyday, who bring no fans and no real attraction to our own part-time speccies.
