| I'm looking forward to visiting the Jungle on Friday to watch the second England v Australia Acadamy international.
Any news from the ground yet as to the chances of this match beating the big freeze?
Cheers

| Typical rfl cant get anything right, the pitch would have been fine by thursday never mind friday, but they've chosen to send it where hardly anybody will turn up.

And how many do you think would have attended at Castleford?

No way.
Cas had their lowest attendance ever in Superleague this season. The last time an academy game was played at Wakefield there was nowhere near 2,000 there.

Castleford and wakefield are differant places with differant levels of support so what that has to do with anything i dont know, theres no rugby on at the moment so theres no competition, an academy match and a representative academy macth are differant things and will obviously draw differant levels of support.
Two of our young players are playing in this game one of them being the captain, cas havent had a representative game for a long time, the last time we had anything similar at the end of the year was a friendly against manly-warringah and we got 1800 for that fixture which was nowhere near as attractive a fixture as this one. And to top it off there alot more rl clubs round here so more fans from other clubs could attend than they can in leigh.

| Wigan, Saints and Warrington were three of the best attended clubs in RL last season, so bringing closeness of other clubs would not really be in Cas's favour.
Saturdays game at Leigh was a reasonable attendance, considering
1) It was rearranged at the last minute
2) It was a freezing cold day.
Did you go?
Will you be going on Friday?

Do the attendances of saints, wigan, salford, oldham, swinton, widnes, leigh and warrington add upto more than cas, wakey, bradford, featherstone, halifax, batley, dewsbury, keighly, hunslet, huddersfield and leeds?
Did i go to leigh? no as it was too far too travel especially considering the problems on the m62, will i go on friday? no it wont be possible for me.
I take you agree that what wakefield get is differant to cas? that representative acedemy matches get more than normal academy matches get? and that if you get 1800 for a post season game against manly-warringah a 2000+ attendance for a representative game including your own club players is very likely.

Does that translate to international attendances, particularly at under 18 level? I think not. I can't believe you think it was worth risking there not being a game at all (the forecasters have been known to be wrong, you know) than simply shifting the game to a venue where it was guaranteed to go ahead.
