Rugby League Collectors' Federation fair in Wakefield : Tue Oct 26, 2010 9:14 pm
This Saturday morning, (October 30th) the RLCF are holding a programme fair in the Cats Bar at Belle Vue and all Rugby league fans are invited to what is always a very sociable event. From 10 onwards, there will be on show a wide range of programmes, magazines, books, photographs, badges, DVDs and other items of general interest to buy or just look at. It will be followed at 12.30 by an auction.In attendance will be the latest person to become a rugby league author. Phil Howard will be signing copies of his first novel "Braver Than All The Rest. A Mother Fights For Her Son" and which Ray French recently described as "an excellent and moving novel".
Also on sale will be copies of the book "No Sand Dunes in Featherstone". This is based on interview carried out by the University of Huddersfield for its "Up And Under" Rugby League Oral History project which will "preserve, celebrate and broaden recognition of the sports rich social and cultural history in the region.
