Deep down, no Castleford fan would have expected us to be top four at the end of the season, regardless. We just enjoyed being on the crest of the wave. What was more amusing was seeing other fans turning against us and loathing us being there. It wasn't the fact we were playing well - we just had "easy" games, or the sides we played didn't turn up. Very bitter.

Nevertheless, what I do know is that our poor performances of late have stemmed from a growing injury list meaning we're playing more kids and poor refereeing decisions. We'll be back.

We do have cover for injuries - when they are across a nmber of positions. Unfortunately, we've had injuries to three of our frontline props, which has knacked our pack completely.

We're missing arguably our best forward in Huby, our best forward youngster in Walker and also the experience of Nick Fozzard.

Please explain how Jackson and Emmitt can compete with Leuluai, Burgess, Peacock, Cross and Kirke? They can't. We lost the forward battle, Leeds had more go forward and that's why we lost.

It'd be like Huddersfield losing Griffin, Patrick and O'Donnell and being left with Crabtree and Mason.

Neither Crusaders or Catalans played particularly well, it was just Huddersfield were poor and weren't at their best.

Cas might slip away this season but I've seen enough to know Cas are gonna be up near the top in the coming years. Great young crop of players. Good coach. Quality club.
