They let us down tonight. : Fri Apr 22, 2011 9:28 pm
I feel the need to start a new thread as the Cas Wakey thread will now degenerate into childs play and not even worth reading...my Dad is bigger than your dad.The sickening thing about tonight is that we didn't learn from last week. Matterson said - 'let this be a wake up call to all of us'. I have walked away with someone that drove back and forth to London last week to see the same team throw away another game. I have walked up Wheldon Road with people that have said they aren't going to Saints...but they intended to before they witnessed that.
We read the spiel about lets get 10k in the ground, we read the Twitters from players that say the same and we fly a legend across the world to witness that. We build ourselves up, momentum, hope...the crowd turn up. Then...bad attitude, lazyness...for the 2nd week running. Mentally weak. We have a backer in Feisal, things going well off the field and the players have let us down tonight.
We have had a great start, beyond our wildest expectations. Maybe we thought that our attitude had changed for the better. Warrington go to Salford today and win 60-0. That is attitude. That is professionalism.
As if we needed an incentive, we would have gone top. Our attitude changed and lifted when we were behind. We got stuck in and lifted the intensity. Why wait until we are behind ?
So disappointing. If we had been in a battle and lost out then so be it, yet for me we didn't even hit top gear. Lazy and bad attitude, our players are becoming as arrogant as some of our fans.
That is game one of Easter and the players will have to go to Saints now with a lot less support than they would have had. The support that they had won back, they will now have to try and win back again.
