One for the hardcore anoracks but just curious if anyone knows who's decision it was to release him? Dave Woods? the Academy coach? Watched him today and for Hudds and it seems a pity that he didn't stay with us.

Didn't he leave same time as his brother, when he failed a drug test.

No, his brother got done almost straight away after joining, he left with the homesick excuse---but has somehow returned to west yorkshire.

Guess he wanted a chance to play first team rugby at a club that appears to develop players quite well!!

Thought he got a 2 year ban for steroids when he was with us so we released him

From memory he signed for us and got the ban...he tested positive at St Helens but had signed for us...very similar to Raz with Bulls .....but we stuck by him.

He played for us after his ban had been served in the second string/academy and had a couple of first team games and did play quite well, but somehow didn't fit in and we released him. There was talk of him emigrating to Australia, not sure if he arrived in Oz at all but he finally returned to Cumbria, then next thing you know he turns up at Sheffhuddersfax.

You're confusing him and his brother. Sean and Rob both signed from Saints at the same time. Shortly afterwards Rob was banned for 2 years after testing positive for stanozolol. http://www.iomtoday.co.im/sport/isle-of ... _1_1749671 He never came back to Cas but next appeared at Workington but retired young with a back injury. However, a second opinion led to him making a comeback and he's still playing in the lower leagues. Sean on the other hand, stayed with Cas and made 4 appearances early in 2005 under Dave Woods. The following year he was loaned out to Workington Town and never returned.
