Another West Yorkshire night under the lights next Friday as we take on Batley Bulldogs at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium. Hopefully we can get a win and knock off another game from the ever-decreasing list.
Off to watch Fev-Batley today, and the consensus on the Batley forum is that there's not much hope.
Well, Batley were rather poor in the match v Featherstone. They perked up in the second half with three tries without reply but the damage was already done. Very clear to see that Shaun Ainscough isn't a full-back as his positional play wasn't up to scratch so I hope we can exploit that.

a new face in the squad for this week's match. Former Hull KR forward Dave Petersen has signed a one month loan deal with the Eagles from Bradford.
I saw this information around 8 this morning.I was in both shock and (temporary) amnesia as I couldn't remember where I saw him play some years ago, before he went to Australia.
I can recall Hull KR fans stating Justin Morgan didn't give youth its head at the time and preferred to play his signings in preference to local youths.
He went to Workington on loan - ask their fans, they want(ed) him back.
But I cannot remember if it was either of those 2 clubs I saw him playing for.
He had long hair and was absolute quality.
Superb signing for the club.No surprise to see him be prepared to play in a development area - Oxford - recently.( Have boots - will travel )
My only immediate worry is keeping him.
Best talent to come out of Hull since the late Mick Ronson.
Be prepared to drive on Britains roads and/or crawl over broken glass to see him.
I am being as restrained as I can be.
That stated - don't mind him playing rubbish,in a winning team,if it helps Bradford decide to part with him.
I'm not worried to be honest. It's a one month loan deal which covers for the injury of Pat Walker so it's good we've got another high calibre player in the squad for the time being.
I follow the Intrust Super Cup with interest nowadays but last year, Petersen played for Mackay Cutters and did a shift or two out of dummy half so he brings utility value.

Its a one month loan deal, you have truly lost the plot...
There does seem to be a little disenchantment with John Kear at the moment, from the supporters,so hopefully we get off to a good start and add to the unrest and lack of confidence.
As we approach the chance to complete our second 'double' in succession,an interview with a player who wants the opportunity to play

Mick Ronson you obviously know your guitarists AC,for me Mick was one of a kind ,I bought his Album featuring his version of Love Me Tender ,and was hooked on him , a very sad loss to the music world.
Batley have signed Elliot Cosgrove, the centre who was formerly of Hunslet Hawks. He goes straight into the Bulldogs squad for Friday. Dave Petersen comes into the Eagles 19 in the place of Cory Aston.
