Official Match Thread - Eagles v Batley GRAND FINAL! : Thu Sep 26, 2013 7:41 am  

Sunday afternoon @ Leigh Sports Village.

So here it is, third final in a row and the chance to become the first team to retain the title.

We can't take Batley lightly, but going into the semi finals I think we'd have all preferred to play Batley than Featherstone. We have a tremendous record over the Bulldogs, hopefully that continues for at least one more game.

Why tar us all with the same brush ? I don't recall for eg ever posting anything derogatary about your support especially as my own club's gates this season have hardly been impressive.

hopefully our good form against Batley will continue but anything can happen in a final

Charlie will make his predictions tomorrow after a good nights sleep , though I am leaning towards the seagulls , as we may have an ex-seagull player in our ranks next season Charlie knows .

For your information Sheffield fans.

Those intending to travel to Manchester by train and then the 26 bus service to Leigh.

There is a TUC march in Manchester on Sunday and between 10 15am and approx 2pm the 26 bus will run at 5 minutes past the hour from stand H at Shudehill Bus Station instead of Piccadilly Bus Station.

Should be an interesting game the Bookies make us 8 points favourites but this is not going to be easy Batley have shown superb spirit to win away to leigh and Fev both by a drop goal I was out last sunday so did not realize that Fev were leading 18-0 at one stage so an amazing comeback I have just looked at the head to heads we have won 14 of the last 15 matches between the two sides !!!

Unfortunately I cant make the game I agreed to work in the morning before i realised that it was grand final day !! although not sure i would have gone as Leigh is not the easiest of places to get to by public transport on a Sunday I will be watching on Premier Sports come on you eagles !!!
