Seen this coming for ages now and not just because the reality of clubs scraping in to administration.
London is a fail and has been for years. Let it go it doesn't work.
France failed but to be fair came back and in the right part has been a massive + for RL and must applaud the SL and RFL for it, but must give them a thumbs down for thinking that it will work in Wales. South Wales, or North Wales, forget it, Wales dont get nor wants to understand Rugby League. Yeah the Welsh in Cardiff say, "Bring it here" but they mean the existing clubs and fans to spend there, not set it up.
Expansion of SL is a no go for me, should be thinking of investing in what we have already and even cutting down to keep the product fresh until the bad times pass.
All or most of the super league clubs are screaming at the RFL that 14 clubs wont work because there isn't enough capable players to compete. This season has seen that proven with inconsistency and results that just are not attractive to watch, unless your a die hard RL fan.
The product of RL is in crisis, most of which isn't it's own making, but it needs to be treated with care until the elements that are outside rugby are dealt with. People dont have the money to throw around, and to many the luxury of a season pass or even an occasional ticket is tight at the moment, so trying to attract people to spend on rugby at the moment in existing clubs is tight, but to wont to continue to support RL in area's that it's not working then dump it and move on.
I hope the product and sport survive. If it wasn't for Sky it would have died long, long ago.
I just pray the people that make decisions in my number 1 sport, make the right ones to keep it in existence, and don't break it by trying to be clever with it.
