Time for my annual pub request on here...any recommended pubs near Don Valley where hopefully a few of you will be heading before the game next week?

Fara's opposite the ground is probably your best bet these days.

I really miss the Cocked Hat when it was in full flow with decent real ale on.

If you're looking for somewhere for a decent pint - there isn't - end of.

It's either Fara's for a pint of fizz or inside the ground for a pint of Fizz.

Faras closed two weeks ago due to brewery withdrawal.

The Cocked Hat is open very rarely. If at all.

Have a beer in town first I'd say.

Is the Greyhound open - does it open on Sundays?

I went in the Carlton which is not that far away a couple of years back but it was very Royston Veseyesqe though (I mean the place not full of fat Geordies telling racist/sexist jokes) seemed to be a locals pub for local people

All we need is a bar like they had on the corner of the Wembley car park for the 3 Nations.

Mrs Airborne has a Makro card - let's buy beer at £15 a case and sell if for £3 a can like they were doing.
Mind you there was no shortage of suckers buying - I mean customers

Sad to say I gave them quite a bit of revenue. Damn sight cheaper than in the ground anyway.
