I've been to all but the first Magic weekend and it's a brilliant idea, but needs organising in the right way. Last year in Edinburgh at the beginning of May, me and Neil were freezing our nuts off, so I can't see Cardiff in February being exactly tropical. I can't understand people's beef about having to pay for matches they don't watch. The prices are very competitive and if people choose not to watch all 7 games, that's up to them, but they could do with a weekend pass (£30 last season). I understand not everyone is as nutty as me when it comes to matches (Leeds Carnegie v Hull University on Leeds Rhinos training pitch no 4 last Saturday), but supporters know the situation before they go. If the reports I'm hearing about this season's competition are to be believed, then I think this will be the last Magic weekend, which would be a pity, but that's the RFL for you. They come up with a great idea and then think of all the ways they can bugger it up and then blame the fans for not turning up.
