Can't say i've been too St Mary's yet but by the way people have spoke about it and what I've seen on Eagles TV i'm sure it will do for a one off game and I wouldn't mind heading down there for a game!

There seems to have been a bit of general confusion about the availability of the Keepmoat for this fixture. So to clarify I have just spoke to Ray Green about this, the Dons, the Eagles and the stadium were all well up for this as an idea in creating a days festival of Rugby League in South Yorkshire, the problem is with the company who maintain the pitch already being booked in for the mammoth annual upkeep job which takes a few weeks. At the moment all the grass is up and just the artificial elements remain as they pack the ground with sand. Our game on the 5th is the only thing on their for about a 5 week period for that reason.

The Dons (and I'd guess the Eagles) were keen in a day involving local amateur clubs, armed forces teams, The Dons and The Eagles but logistically it just couldn't happen at this time of the year or by the time your lads got on the surface, you might as well be in the car park

Jemmo has a good point

Doncaster are our natural rivals - I say rivals and I mean that in a good way. The local derby should be a game that both sets of fans look forward to and have the bragging rights to until the next time.

The South Yorkshire festival of Rugby sounds like a brilliant idea, could be alternated between Sheffield and Doncaster each year.

Good one for you faxhali ,If it was to be at St Marys and you wanted a drink,Its quite hard or near impossible to get there by public transport,Best bet would be tram to Crystal peaks (Gypsey Queen),Then phone a taxi to ground 10 mins drive away,Other than that theres the Angel 2 mins walk from ground in the centre of the village,I'll be going in there for a few if anybody fancies it?
Spinkhill wont know whats hit it Thats off course if the game is played there (maybe an ideal time if wanting a supporters meeting and for more people to turn up aswell as theres nowhere else to go )Just a thought.
