From reading that I think I was at a different game to you! I thought Danny was his usual self, completely anonymous. Two knock ons and lots of sideways running. When Menzie passed him the ball behind the line I could imagine him saying "here you are, it's the only way you're going to score" but maybe in a few fewer words.
I thought Dane had a good game, we know he's not a halfback, Mark knows he's not a halfback, he knows he's not a halfback, but what options do we have? This whole Kyle Wood scenario is an absolute joke, give him back to Huddersfield full time and let's go out and buy another halfback, even with QLT here we're still short in my opinion. I think Dane can be useful at loose forward, he makes decent yards and isn't afraid to put his head in where it hurts.
Agree about the attendance, I don't care who we're playing or what the venue is, 350 for a home game is embarrassing, very few people turned up and payed on the gate. Maybe the pricing structure was wrong, I certainly don't think we did enough to entice students from Leeds Met to attend.
Professional performance and job done, in the hat for the next round. Next week is the real test, then we will really see what this squad is made of.
I totally agree with that, I thought Danny Mills was absolutely ordinary at best, I think Dane is getting better too. The win is something very much needed to boost their confidences and mine!!! Not for a long time have I felt we have no hope, seasons come and even though it's never usually a good start, there is always a glimmer of something. But this year, nothing, and tbh if it hadn't have been free the match, I wouldn't have gone and that's so not like me. They've been damn right awful.
