My first Eagles game was THE first Eagles game in 1984. First game visited, Blackpool Borough v Doncaster in 1979 at the old Borough Park ground. The adult admission fee was 50p and it was 25p for juniors and OAPS (of which I was one, a junior that is, not an OAP, well actually I was nearly 17.) And a pint of beer was 55p (not that I had one of course, only being nearly 17.) I actually know someone who can go back further, and he's younger than me as well, the swine, but I'll leave that to him to impart. I do vaguely remember watching the "Watersplash Final" of 1968 on TV though and always watched the Floodlit Trophy games of about the same era with Eddie Waring comentating. I met him once, with Stuart Hall, although that was when It's a Knockout came to Sheffield, also around the same time. Talking of famous people, saw Eamonn Holmes at Piccadilly Station in Manchester on Saturday on the way to the Etihad Stadium for the Magic Weekend (me, not him). Neil said he looked different in the flesh, but it was definately him. Shall I stop rambling now? I think it's time for tea! Lol.
