You're right, I will be an Eagle forever, but I'm not bringing my football habits into the Eagles! This song wasn't my own exclusive idea it was you who asked about Wednesday singing it in the first place, I don't see why a particular place in which a generic song is sung should dictate whether or not you choose to sing it at Eagles games. Each to their own though, I just think booing through it would be completely and utterly counter-productive and make you look like a bit of a Wally!

Fair play ESO. We all love the EAGLES. Just the thought of a wendy song being sung in support of the Eagles ain't my idea of supporting the Eagles and fills me with horror. I'm pretty sure you would boo if I started to sing the greasy chip butty after a Menzie hit. Would much prefer it if you lot from the dark side would save it for the dark sides away matches.

What are you dark siders doing for Batley?

Dark side at home or the mighty Eagles at Mount Pleasant. Got my vintage shirt all good and ready to go.

You dont have to sing what you dont want to, but booing any songs we sing just strikes of total immaturity. Like ESO says, lots of footy teams sing it, but we believe we are the first RL side to sing it.

Sing greasy chip buttie if you want, youll be the only one though.

Ill be at Batley, retro shirt n all. I havent been to a Wednesday game in ages, ive been to more Scarborough Athletic games this season.

Greasy chip bitty is an absolute Uni*ed anthem though, just can't get enough is just belted out by a few pre-pubescent kids at the back of our kop to be fair

I've decided I'm going to Batley, will be only the second Wednesday home game I've missed in five seasons but we have nothing to play for and if it's another day like today Batley will be a good laugh!!

The greasy pork sandwich song has been tried at eagles a few times over the years and has never taken off due to the fact that it really IS a footy song.

ESO. On reflection that Depeche Mode chant is quite neat and, as you point out it is something different. The atmosphere yesterday was the best at an away game for ages. The more noise, the more songs, sung by more people the better. I was a bit daft to bring my footy loyalties into the world of the mighty Eagles as there obviously both Blades and owls who follow our beloved Eagles. It will not happen again.

I think you've made the correct decision in going to Batley, I can sense good times ahead. Hopefully we can create a similar amount of noise as yesterday. . . . .how does it go? i just can't get enough, i just can't get enough. We slip and slide. . . . . .

No we decided to keep it how it is. Almost every RL team has their own anthem without any mention of their team (red red robin for Hull KR, marching on together for Leeds, Hull faithful for Hull etc) so we decided to keep this song an Eagle free zone if you like, all our other songs mention Eagles in them somewhere.

I like that Menzie song but don't think we need anymore to be fair, we had the full ensemble yesterday!! Including the repeated chant of MENZIE, Menzie's gonna get yer, We've got Menzie Yere (na na na na na na na na na na na) and you know you've been Menzied! I'm willing to give it a go if we can get it started though!
