I'm assuming that Tubbs will be working on his retain list over the next few weeks and depending on who he wants to keep and who wants to stay he'll look at where he needs to recruit

A lot will depend on the budget that he has to work with and the next 3 games plus how far we progress in the playoffs may determine how much that budget will be.


This years squad has been small but in my view it's helped the players gel in what I think is the best team spirit since the reform. But this has a downside in that when you get injuries it's a little more difficult to select the squad. There is the option of getting more players I suppose but if this is at the expense of quality then perhaps no.

Going back to the initial question.
Anthony Thackeray ? Especially if York get relegated but I don't think that they will.
I really hope Tangi gets a chance of SL but if not and he wants to stay in the UK then I'd have him back.
James Ford - probably not now.

Ford has had the chance to come back to the Eagles, can't see him being offered another chance-likewise I can't see him re-signing Edwards or Presley having released them in the first place. As for players based over in the north-West and Cumbria, these blokes have full time jobs- will they really want to commute to Sheffield for training on an evening?

I don't think there will be a big budget with the crowds being around the same as last year and the whole Spinkhill thing but would be great to take on a good prop like Higgins or Fozzard & sign Vinny on a contract too and hopefully continue to develop Hanson & Battye & Scott into the team more next year.

Beyond that I don't think we'll get much..
