Looking at 13v 13 full time players aside,I felt even more proud of our players efforts last week.
As Yorkshireman Garry Schofield has touted Paul Rowley as the next National coach it was interesting to see how he fared against the former national coach who was maligned for allowing cliques to develop where St Helens and Leeds players were not so friendly.Tony Smith didn't have much success at national level but I think he came out on top yesterday - even with a full back who appeared less fit than McNally by the large pack strapped to his leg and the lack of his usual pace.
Interestingly was Garry Schofield banging on about overseas coaches and then wanting Wayne Bennett to be national coach following on from Tony Smith.
I cannot see any similarity between Bennett and Rowley but as fate dictates Phil Veivers, coach of todays opponents Workington,is the brother-in-law of Wayne Bennet.
He was also at Huddersfield with Schofield and Tony Smith was at Huddersfield.
I hope Phil Veivers team get a victory next week.
