As we're leaving Leigh at 11, it sounds like it could be another fun drive around to find a pub that's open

There will be pubs open within a reasonable distance (15 min walk) of DVS.
There is the Noose and Gibbet on Broughton lane bang opposite the Sheffield Arena.

The Wentworth is also opposite the Arena on Attercliffe itself - this is one of those chain pubs that does chain pub food i.e. nuked to death by microwave but it is a pub.

Just been past Don Valley.

Lights on at the Greyhound and doors open so should be open Friday eves

Used to love the pubs near the Valley on sudays. They all had roasties and yorkie puds on the bar when we went.

Cocked Hat will be open, hopefully.

Don Valley Hotel and Greyhound just round the corner are still there.
