Rugby Legend Jason Robinson Named As Capital Challenge Guest Speaker London Skolars are delighted to announce that Rugby legend Jason Robinson OBE will be the guest speaker at the 2013 Capital Challenge. The Capital Challenge is an annual pre-season match between London Skolars and Super League side London Broncos and is held at the grounds of the Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of the City of London. The match will be played on Friday 11th January and will be preceded by a special luncheon in the Great Hall at the venue where guests will get the opportunity to hear from a true British sporting hero. During an illustrious career Robinson starred in both codes of rugby and earned caps for both the England Rugby League and Rugby Union national teams. Known for his acceleration and leadership on the pitch Jason made over 300 appearances for Wigan, scoring 685 points in the process. Along with his team's success, Robinson would go on to win numerous individual awards and honours such as the Harry Sunderland Trophy, the Lance Todd Trophy, as well as being named in the Super League Dream team from 1996-2000. On the international stage Jason played 12 times for Great Britain, 7 times for England and once for the Rest of the World. Robinson made the seamless transition to Rugby Union and after a brief spell with Bath he joined Sale Sharks, where he made over 150 appearances. International recognition followed and Jason was rewarded with 51 England caps, as well as playing five times for the British Lions. In the 2003 World Cup Robinson played in all seven of England’s games and scored in the memorable final win over Australia. In 2006, he became the first player to have lifted both the Guinness Premiership and Super League trophies. Commenting on the announcement London Skolars General Manager Howard Kramer had this to say: “Jason has enjoyed a remarkable career in Rugby and, having heard him speak at last year’s Four Nations tournament, I know our guests won’t be disappointed. Jason is really looking forward to coming down and supporting the Capital Challenge.” London Skolars are delighted to welcome Jason Robinson as guest speaker at the Capital Challenge.
