I remember all these comments coming from fans of other SL teams not so long ago. Rugby league was always thought of as being a really good sport for sticking with your fans but it did not happen for the original fans of the Crusaders. Before anyone says anything about moving on I have to say that I was not a supporter of the team when they played in Bridgend. Of all the people that used to go there though, the biggest mouths that used to let off steam about being deserted by the old management, they travel to Wrexham to watch. As I said, I am not a supporter but I feel that a lot of the supporters now will not keep travelling to watch them over the long term. A great number of them were just hangers on who never supported any team before the Crusaders started up. The same is now happening at theRacecourse. Another reason why I think they will not survive the long term is the fact that the owner stated from the start that he was only interested in getting his hands on the franchise was solely to save the footbal team who were on the brink of extinction until then.
On another note, when the franchises come up for grabs again, I have heard from fans of a number of teams that they are going to start a petition to drop the Crusaders in favour of a Northern team because of the fact that the team at this time are not the team who were awarded the licence and therefore should not be readmitted due to breaking almost all the terms that were originally agreed.
As a Bradford Bulls fan I have enough problems of my own but I cannot agree that they deserve to bein SL and look forward to seeing them play the likes of Keighley and Featherstone in the future
