The main thing is speaking to the fans both new to the Crusaders and Saints fans , the club now has the credibility we never had on or off the field last year, though I don't think this means at all that South Wales can't support a SL side in the future.
I think you'll find that once credibility is firmly established and once core support begins to solidify, there will be more chances for the Welsh guys. For most of them they aren't up to SL standard yet and for those that are, they need to be in an environment where the team is competing so as not to undermine their performance. Having Gareth Thomas around for a while will help IMO, assuming he performs anything like half decently, as it is an indicator of intent if not actual fact at present (that the side will become more Welsh). As the South Wales side establishes itself and time passes, it's quite likely that there will be more movement from south to north, allowing local South Wales youngsters to try their hand at the Scorpions.
I sincerely hope Wales will have two Superleague sides in the fullness of time but it needs to be done right next time out as a second mess up will prolly see the death of RL in Wales IMO.
PS: Although mainly Aussie at present, wasn't it nice to support a side who were seriously competing rather than the one that started off seriously competing but just couldn't maintain the pace?
