Deciding whether Tony Smith talking about playing entertaining rugby or Vladimir Putin recognising the People’s Republic’s of Donetsk and Luhansk was more worrying. I hope I don’t regret making light of that.
Still, I dare say we’ll be better when the grounds firm up!
More seriously, Smith and Rovers did alright last year. I owe them a bit of doubt debt, so hopefully they’ll start to play themselves into some form in the coming weeks.
But, just one year, could the coach maybe talk up physicality, aggression and/or ruthlessness? Just for variety of presentation, if not outcome. 2014 wasn’t exactly a year of glory, but like shirt designs and naming infants, or the turning of the seasons, there should some cycle, some change of tenor to mark the passing of another title for the St. Wigan Rhinos. The monotony is disorientating… like we’re in the RL backrooms.
