PROUD TO BE A ROBIN!

Ben Crooks : Sun Sep 02, 2018 12:03 pm
With Craig Hall scoring for fun, and the fanfare that surrounded Todd Carney, Ben Crooks hasn't had much press or attention. He has sort of slipped under the radar but for me I think this was a very, very good signing. Ill be honest and say I have never really rated him that much with the clubs he has had, but since playing for us I have seen a lot more of him. He (like Hall) seems a totally different player than the wafer thin nervous one I saw play for FC.

His defence seems as good as most top centres in the league, his returns are at pace and makes yards, haven't noticed any brain farts in attack or defence and looks like a centre wingers like to play with.

I would not hesitate on offering him a 2-3 year deal. A massive upgrade on Salter, homegrown and would imagine not on a kings ransom.

The same goes for Hall, fans used the phrase rocks and diamonds to describe him. Well 7 tries in 4 games tells a story itself, but he seems to have got rid of the parts of his game where he took unnecessary risks, making him look stupid.

Also as red and white as the most of us on here! Goal kicking could be crucial too as Tickle has gone in that depart

I think the captaincy at Toronto May have done Hall a world of good. Or maybe he’s just matured with age.

Crooks has looked good so far, I completely agree.

Yep he and Hall have been great signings.Dagger may prove the best of the 3 of them in time but the nature of these qualifiers leaves little learning time for the likes of Dagger Oakes Wallis etc. These 2 lads have left Hull and come back far more complete atheletes

What was tim sheens thinking of designating tickle as goal kicker in yesterdays match, halls kicks won us the game against toronto, had to be 1st choice, yet sheens thought otherwise.

In the Hull game Crooks' defensive play was immense. Doesn't look like he's got a mistake in him anymore

I couldn't hear the robin sing if not for you.

Re: Ben Crooks : Mon Sep 03, 2018 6:09 pm
With the loss of Shaw & Heffernan Rovers seemed to have a problem but the double swoop for Hall & Crooks has exceeded all expectations.

Jackson Hastings is probably the top deadline signing but goodness these two are not far behind.

Great signing for you guys, i've wanted Hall at Warrington for years. Wasn't a fan of Crooks but he's definately doing everything right for you guys. Seems to have added alot for you which i'm glad of as i'd hate you to not be in super league so hope they can make the difference for you :-)

I never understood why Hall wasn't retained and put out of the door.
