I thought the same when I was watching the game. Your back row offers nothing though.

Agree with this.

Thought that James Green showed some determination in attack and defence last night. His stats reflect this. On occasions he got his legs pumping after contact and made good metres.

What planet was Adam Walker playing on is anyone's guess. Planet bum first and planet flappy tackle and planet here's another ill-advised offload in that order, which incidentally just might be words to use in his line of defence when later questioned etc. Tilse was lightweight too.

Having watched Wigan, Huddersfield, Saints a lot, I wonder why we haven't got a bullocking back rower like Tautai, Tai, Vea and even McCarthy-Scarsbrook who run onto the ball at pace and drive the ball forward with purpose. In so doing, they always get their team on the front foot. Jason Chan came closest to this last year.

Burke offers nothing and hasn't all season. Bang average plodder, rather give Ollett game time. In their own right, Horne and Mccarthy offer something and have strengths which they bring to the team. Problem is we don't have much variation in styles for our 11 12 13. The 4 mentioned, Donaldson, Larroyer all smaller size back rowers. I rate Horne Mccarthy and Donaldson but we need some size power and athleticism to compliment these guys. Larroyer if used running out wide like last year instead of like a battering ram will also prove his worth, defence is very good which is rare in our team. The one 2nd rower with size in Cox looks like he won't progress as hoped, he's been pretty poor when he's played this year. Key area for recruitment hopefully Chester sorts it out.

Chester says some players have probably played themselves out of the semi! I agree but who and who does he intend to replace them with? I would play Chisholm with Kelly as offers more at 6 than Blair IMO. Not sure about Blair in the pack as pack is small enough if Donaldson and Larroyer figure too, maybe put him on the bench to keep options open? RRTR!

Kelly & Blair the half's,Chisholm can't play in the cup (I think). Blair as been consistantly good all season in any position he plays.

Was it a case of not wanting to get injured before the semis?
In most sports you see performances like that before finala oe semis.

saints have made finals and semi finals nearly every year, so they know how to handle those scenario's, teams like hkr, cas fc etc who only make semi and final appearances every blue moon don't.

I remember a few years back we made the cc final, week before got tonked 60+ by wigan
