While agreeing we're a lot my way off being at our potential best, for a team to concede 50 points they have to be pretty poor, maybe we should accept the teams we have played so far aren't as poor as we expect them to be. As long as we see steady improvement week on week, and the effort is there let's let the coach do his job, and give our opposition the respect they deserve.

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.

Re: Changes for Sunday : Sun Feb 26, 2017 12:24 pm
I am annoyed by some fans expecting us to dole out 50 point thrashing to the likes of Oldham and Rochdale. Very disrespectful and misguided.

There are surprise results in our sport week in week out. To illustrate, explain this if you can:

Middle 8s last year, we wallop London away by scoring over 50 points. London beat Salford away the following week. We nearly lose to Fev away who had been hammered by London and all an sundry earlier in the M8s. We lose to Salford in the MPG.

If I take the same sort of blinkered and simplistic approach to the game as some of my fellow colleagues have, why didn't we wallop Fev by 100 and Salford by 70 in the MPG?

Also we dry bummed Cas away last year in arguably our best performance of the season. Hard to believe they are the team that many are tipping to break into SL top 4 and win trophies in SL. On that basis, the same simplistic approach should mean we are good enough for top 4 in SL therefore.

C*#p comes in many forms. Performance and consistency takes time. Patience and honesty is required from the team and fans.

Bingo!

Some respect for the coach's record too.

You could hen peck lots of results from last season to suit any agenda. My point is the here and now. I'm not bothered what Leigh did, different team different season. I can more or less guarantee if we complete sets at a good percentage and cut out daft mistakes (both attack and defence), then I will be very disappointed (AGAINST OLDHAM) if we don't rack up a few points.

I am giving Oldham all my respect, but after last seasons disaster, we need to be dominating this league, I am not buying into this "give us 6 or 7 games" malarkey. We are full time and there are no excuses.

Oldham have won one and had narrow defeats to London and Fev so not as bad as you make out look at Toronto yesterday

Game destroyed as a spectacle by the ref. Job done I suppose. Defended a lot better. Quality kicking from Ellis in that wind, especially the 1st one. Ban looming for Scruton, don't know what he was thinking.

I've seen some bad refs but today's was even handed. As for Scruton, who knows, but a number of Oldham indescretions went unpunished today.

Minns really is showing his SL quality at the moment whereas Moss looks like a list child a lot of the time with ball in hand. Took his try well but far too indecisive most of the time. Abdul's kicking in the 1st half wasn't great at times. Overall a solid performance today although we lost our enthusiasm in attack in 2nd half. For the record though, Oldhams defence was shockingly bad at times.

The wind was brutal today.

Abdull my MOM, closely followed by Donno and Lunt. We bombed opportunities for more points and caught white line fever again in the second half, lacking composure and vision in the process. Defence was excellent as was forward momentum. Yes, Oldham were poor but we knackered them out in the first half hour playing against a gale force wind, completing at almost 100% and scoring 5 tries in the process. Job well done.

Didn't see what Scruton did to warrant his sin binning. Referee was cack but fair.

My views on our team last year are all there to check over and at what stage I started to believe we were in a relegation fight.
It's a forum......for discussing opinions.
I can understand fans disappointments after games, the horrors that go with being relegated etc but I can't tolerate this ' We're a big club 'we should be scoring 50 every week' ' snobishness.. It's what has made the Sharks the great under achievers of the superleague era.
Read a little of the other threads. Leigh didn't hammer teams each week. One of the games greatest coaches is 240 minutes into his tenure against opposition coaches and players who want their say about the result and you won't 'accept' another victory like last week (away at the league leaders).
Is this the type of attitude that got Ranieri sacked?
More piffle later...
