Best boxer. Him, Ray Robinson, Jack Johnson. Unforgivable Blackness is a remarkable read of Johnson's life. Did it all 40 years before Ali.

World was a better place with Ali in it.

Looked like a great boxer from footage I've seen . imo tyson when his head was on straight would have cleaned him out , but I know boxing has changed over the years so know one will ever know.

Fighters ruin there reputation by taking fights they never should Ali should have never fought Holmes Holmes should never have fought Tyson and Danny Williams didn't deserve to be in the same ring as Tyson never mind beating him IMO Tyson at his peak would have destroyed anybody

Interesting argument about who was the best. We shall never know . But wouldn't it have been good to see Ali and Tyson in the ring at the height of there powers.Imo Ali had to much speed for all the heavyweight challenges and would have seen.tyson off but I wouldn't have put my house on it.

Not racist though we're they. Calling him gorilla and an Uncle Tom is not racist.
Frazier seemed to have resolved the issue hence they toured the world together on various events.

Like I say don't go for the simplistic view of history. Ali had many faults ( as we all do) racism wasn't one of them.

He'd have boxed Tyson's ears off. Tyson could only fight going forward and never fought anyone of any quality. He'd have a punchers chance against Ali nothing more. To mentally fragile too. Liston and Foreman were harder punchers Ali made fools of them. Holmes troubled him at 40. Ali was banned from age 26 to 29. Most athletes peak years. He could beat any type of fighter.
As soon as anyone pushed Tyson's and got him going backwards he flailed like a fish on a beach. Holyfield destroyed him twice. There's not one heavy weight fighter post Ali that would have got close to him.

Agree ali at his peak was virtually unhittable,the exception being cooper who he felt wasn't a threat,every other fighter prior to his ban who he felt was a threat hardly hit him at all.Tyson would have got nowhere near him IMO,foreman was twice the bully tyson was and look what happened to him,yet 20 years later foreman was world champ again which says it all.
As regards sheldon,most posters know what he says is always correct,he'll tell you that himself.

Tyson destroyed Holmes he never got near him and Tyson lost a few of his best years by been in prison and if Tyson Fury went around calling black boxers gorillas I'm certain he would be called racist
