Re: Tony Smith : Sat Mar 26, 2016 12:48 pm
Realistically, I suspect somebody has put it out there on social media in a mad fit of optimism, and Sky have picked it up as a talking point. I'm not convinced by the concept of the sponsors grapevine either. Though next time I'm back I might pop in east hull chippy and restaurant and ask for patty, chips and a tranfer rumour.I'd assume still that it's McNamara, though the only reason I can imagine for the delay in announcing it is that he hasn't accepted - which is plausible. I can't imagine it undermining him in his current position, especially - I don't think fans would go off on one about the commitment of an assistant coach. And I don't think we'd see him as a saviour and start demanding he comes back now.
We could really do to splash out on somebody like Smith to reinvigorate the club and generate a bit of feelgood, and I wouldn't be surprised if his agent has been fluttering his lashes at us with a view to getting a better deal from Warington, but I just can't see it coming off.
