The poster formerly known as Wildmoose...cheers Karoo

Early signs were good. You can't legislate for injuries or the kind of officiating that Bentham / Child inflicted upon us. Almost every aspect of our game was improved & we showed an energy not seen since the semi-final.

If we could produce several back to back performances like that I'd happily offer the job to Poching. Can't see it happening though.

Converting the west to the promised land

Looking at all these threads just makes me wonder how the hell we got into this mess.
I just can't believe we went into this season with a squad of 26 plus a 16 yo and an Aussie crock that we all knew wouldn't be ready for the start of the season, but getting sound bites from the club that they were hoping he'd be ready for the start of the season.

We hired new fitness coaches to get away from having an injury ravaged squad.......look how well that worked!

We hired Jamie Peacock to be this new messiah that would bring a new professionalism to our club and bring in better signings off the back of his name at least.....our recruitment was awful! Why he wasn't thrusted into the role right after the grand final I don't know, bringing him in on a full time role in December baffled me.

Then to top it all off, we have a pre-season training camp of fighting fires at Newcastle airport and (as noble as it was) helping the flood victims in Cumbria. Instead of looking at new combinations and defence training

We are now at the point were we are now looking at a new coach..... Jesus wept. A fans forum is needed to answer all questions about what the hell has been going on since September last year.

Wondering who is going to be our next coach is dependant on how we perform the next month, but this club is no further on since the Sandercock departure, it's a case of déjà vu. The season is four games in, but we are not good enough to make the top 8 even with most our team back. Now that is Chesters fault, and rightly has gone. But bigger balls was needed at the end of last year, but the board unfortunately ain't that ruthless.

This season is now in the bin, but let's have no quick fixes and rushed appointments, and let's get this right from now on.

Well he came in as a defence coach and our defence is crap is that enlightened enough

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

Poching.

His name is Poching.

P. O. C. H. I. N. G.

FFS.

Now, I've widely criticised him for our defence, but how much of that came down to Chester's game plan (or apparent lack of) and tactics?

Let's see how he goes for a few weeks, but keep our irons in the fire and get Useless Mike to fanny about seeing who's available.

Remember, we're not that big a draw for anyone whose available, although I've often wondered what really went wrong with Daniel Anderson's career.

Perhaps it would have been a lot better if he had been allowed to use the defensive structure he used at Warrington. Warrington didn't have any problems defensively when he was defensive coach at the club.

It may be that WP wanted to do certain things but Chester as head coach overruled him. Perhaps now that he has sole control of the systems, selection and tactics things will improve. Either way it seems he'll be here till at least June and perhaps longer. We all need to get behind him and the team.
