Because they've chosen to do something worthwhile in their lives by choosing to help provide a vital service to the people within their country. By doing so they have clearly wavered their right to a union, I get that, but what they don't want to see is overpaid & underworked prats (who basically push a lever back and forth all day) deciding that their fat wedge salary isn't enough, so they're going to make other peoples lives a misery in the process. It's pathetic. And the attitude from people like you i.e. "should have joined a union" (which is thankfully a minority!) is infuriating to those that sacrifice a great deal more than what they are actually paid to do.
You're either a wind up merchant or a f8cking idiot. push a lever backand forth. tell that to the poor c*nt who was blown up in the 7/7 attacks and the drivers who risk terrorist attacks every day in London. Or the poor sods who have to deal with people regularly throwing themselves in front of the trains. 47,000 in London wont get you a mortgage on a shed. You should educate yourself and not believe everything in the media. Striking is people's right to protect themselves from exploitation. If my colleagues inthe NHs did it more we might save what's left of the NHS. Then everyone would stop moaning about how sh#t it is and maybe notice most of the problems are down to privatisation. Hope they strike on the 29th and then you can walk and then maybe you'll appreciate them. I 'll be in London for the final and will supprt them whatever they decide. Go educate yourself you oaf.

Another half wit.......do you believe everything in the Daily Mail. Go educate yourself rather than be spoon fed information. I know it takes effort and requires some intellect but it can be rewarding. Then you can contribute to discussions and form your own opinions. Try it its invigorating. Start with some Owen Jones literature then work your way towards Noam Chomsky. There....you can lead a horse to water if they drink it or pi#s in it its up to them.
I love Jamie and have done since he was 10 years old.

Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

To say they risk terrorist attacks everyday is just stupid they are at risk as much as anyone else in London sounds like you want us to go back to the 70s were strikes solved nothing in the end I was in a union for 10 years and when it came for them actually having to do something they were useless never again would I waste my time with these crooks I also remember my dad who was a docker coming out for a month in support of the miners and the only person who came out of that well was scargill with his nice new house

47k may not be enough to mortgage a shed but should tube drivers really be getting more than doctors who work in excess of 50 hours per week with no overtime payments? Should they get more time off than Nurses who have to deal with the Sh*t they do day in day out? Should they get more on top of the 47k basic for doing night shifts? Should they get 30k more per year than an infantry soldier who is fighting for his country?
If your answer to any of these questions is yes then you are what is wrong with this country. I believe that any employee should be able to strike to get what they deserve. Tube drivers currently get more than they deserve and are a set of greedy <insert expletive>. By all means, strike for better safety at work but striking because they now have to work that bit harder (even though they still wont work as hard as Doctors/Nurses/Policemen/firemen/Soldier) for their money is ridiculous.

What a load of crap you spout I was in the union for 50 yrs yes 50 and i was also a shop steward and can tell you if it was not for a union we would not have the hols or pay we have now i can tell you you would not be working a 5 day week on good money you would be working 6 days or more, sure some unions have gone over the top but with out them you would be going to work all hours and on a bike with string round your coat and if it was left to this bunch the zero hours would be for every person going except them, if Maggie Thacher had her way when she was alive thats what would have happened, and the idiot in charge now will do the same if not stopped but i do not say they should get more then doctors or nurses they should of course get more but every person from a street cleaner to a top doctor should try to better their selves you are
I didn't realise that there was a salary threshold whereby if you're over it, you have no right to strike. New one on me that.
Londoners don't support the strike? Well I never. The self-serving commuters that will be directly effected by the strike don't like it, I can't believe it.
Some horrendous, crass, jealous comments on here. I only popped on to see if there was any news on the strikes, or other options anyone had found as I'm heading down on Friday morning.

You don't have a clue do you.
Also, can you put me onto the person who appointed you as supreme judge of what salary people deserve? Thanks

Maybe a load of crap in your mind but having to listen to shop stewards spout crap for ten years then when it came to the crunch they did feck all funny enough Union leaders never seem to suffer when the workers do British leyland is a shining example of the unions at work obviously your of an age were unions were the be all and end all times have changed that's why if the unions get there choice of labour leader labour will be unelectable
