London Underground Tube Strike on Fri 28th Aug : Tue Aug 11, 2015 7:02 pm
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN. This is an advance warning for anyone going to the CC Cup Final at Wembley. The unions have called a 2nd day 24 hour tube strike during the week leading up to the Wembley CC final designed to cause chaos in the capital for the Bank Holiday weekend getaway.
This strike will begin at 21.00 on Thursday 27th August and finish at 21.00 on Friday 28th August. It's possible it may be called off in the interim, so keep checking the news. My daughter lives and works in London and has first hand experience of the misery, chaos and disruption this will cause.
Anyone travelling to London by rail or car on the FRIDAY before the final or planning to catch a taxi or bus on the FRIDAY before the final when they get to London will be likely caught up in horrendous traffic jams on the roads all around the capital. This includes the M25 and North Circular. Similarly the tube will be slow for the first half of SATURDAY FINAL DAY due to the knock on effect as things get back to normal.
ADVICE IS TO BE AWARE AND ALLOW MORE TIME TO GET TO YOUR DESTINATION OR TO THE MATCH.
Good luck and hope you don't get too affected. Fingers crossed for a strike postponement.
