Blimey! there's some proper Salford hate here for a Monday morning. Personally I couldn't give a toss what happens this week as we're back in SL next season which is the ultimate aim of the qualifiers. I can see both teams blooding some younger guys in a game that for all intents and purposes, is just a training exercise now. Fwiw I think you'll canter to a victory without too much problem.

I do take exception being compared to Leigh though.

It can't be true for a number of reasons. Leigh always bring fifteen thousand to away games whereas we bring about fifteen. Yes we've both got jesters for chairmen, but Koukash is a shy and retiring schoolboy in comparison to Beaumont's heroic bell-endery that is outstripping Koukash by quite a mark at the moment. Leigh fans tend to be so incredibly over-optimistic that they are always going to come away feeling disappointed every time they realise that their team is actually still just a turd no matter how much polish they spray on it. On the other hand, most Salford fans know their team is incredibly average and are genuinely surprised that we win any game no matter who the opposition is. Leigh fans tend to be wallowing in a shallow gene-pool whereas Salford fans are mainly car thieves. So all in all, I think the comparison is unfair.

Hoping for a good win especially against Salford as I dont like the way the owner apears (may well be a gent but apears a knob) the fans have my utmost respect, as do every person who watch our great game even across te city.

Nice reply, Butcher. I thought you might be upset by the Leigh comparison. Who wouldn't be? Based on the quality of turd polish produced this year, Salfords variety has been more of the diluted variety, whereas Leigh is vintage 100 percent proof.

However, I did say in my post, " indistinguishable in most regards " and I do applaud you for politely pointing out those few areas where the similarity ends. You are nice people and fans though, and you are welcome in your tens to sit in our lovely North Stand on Sunday.

That means we will be pretty average as opposed to just plain average then, Frankie. :)

Just as an aside, I see Josh Griffin has a grade A charge and he still has his egp in the bag. Could he theoretically take a one match ban and miss this game and keep his egp for next season or does he have to use his egp and play regardless losing his chance of another egp for a full 12 months?

I was disappointed with Chester saying that certain players had played loads and needed a rest at Sheffield, rested Lunt Why and few others ! I could mention.
Some things he does baffles me.
Last game full team no exceptions play for 80 minutes and bow out on a high.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

You have a nice apron, but you need to sort out that 'tache, come on man, you've got the last three weeks dinners in there.

Pickering Red talks balls, I was unfortunately tempted into his manor recently and cost me a kings ransom to stay in a shed.

Bourgeois doesn't go far enough.

Not a Rovers fan, never had to buy his Christmas presents from Aubrey's next to Ferodo bridge.

Why not?

It's a squad game and Rugby League is a high intensity hugely physical game.

We were always highly likely to beat Sheffield and Salford was always going to be a tougher game.

We're attempting to go seven from seven, the players get a holiday and then pre season before next year, why not manage the squad to put our best possible side on the park for the last game?

Win on Sunday, go seven from seven, have the party on the pitch thing and everyone leaves happy, looking forward to next year and, most importantly, renewing season tickets, or hopefully getting new people to buy.
