Big men go down if they're hit hard and low.
Rover's problems have been there for some time, a lack of enthusiasm to make a tackle.
Our line defense is slow, three steps forward then stop and stand still. Lazy, lazy, lazy.
If you are stood still when making the tackle and they are running at you it means two things; first, they make easy yards; second, we receive injuries.
Our marker defense is the worst in the league. Slow to get square (could be explained by having no impact in the tackle, see above) if they do get square then they just watch the next play without getting involved. Usually our markers just give away a cheap penalty, saving them the bother of getting involved.
Our next coach needs to put a rocket up these players to get rid of the lazy attitude.

Tbf though, if you go low on a big man, there's every chance he'll offload.

And perhaps they're outgunned and knackered, rather than lazy, and stopping us doesn't tire the opposition as much.

One big factor to think about, If we follow the NRL as we usualy do we will be down to 10 interchanges & maybe 8. It is the main reason big Frank & Taylor have arrived in super league. The constant urge to speed up the game is changing the shape of the players making it through to the top grade. I think we miss a trick by not looking at some fringe union lads who are to small for their game but would thrive in the forwards in league, again a return to an A team might give us a chance to try prospects out.
On another note lets hope for a performance today as all the results have gone in our favour this weekend. Two points would set us up for a couple of hard games to come.

We should expect a performance every week. Not just when other results have gone in our favour.

What we expect & what we have been getting of late are not the same thing. I never know what will happen when I turn up don't stop me though its all part of supporting this game?

Pritchard was regularly playing the full 80 in the NRL last season with more interchanges. Reducing the number of interchanges and increasing fatigue amongst those used to more rest would be ideal for him

This is great news. Blair has arguably been our best Aussie signing of 2015 for consistency and return on investment. He's worth an extra 2 years.

By the way, I hope you didn't embarrass yourself by carping on to him too much about your failure to make Stan's alternative 17 against Warrington in Rd 2 this year. We know you've been in a pissy ever since. :D
