Bench for Friday : Mon Apr 06, 2009 7:22 am
Our coach hasn't many options to change things for the derby but for me he needs to drop moa and bring thackray back in. Put Manu on the bench and start radford in the 2nd row with washy at LF.

My bench would be:

thackray
manu
king
lee

We shouldn't be looking to risk whiting in the derby but he may come into contention for Monday at saints

To reconcile respect with practicality, what is the optimum speed for a hearse?

Manu has been doing far too many minutes recently. I think he's done the full 80 for the last 4 games running simply because he is our main attacking threat and if we take him off we look even worse (if thats possible).

He put in a great defensive stint yesterday and was heavily marked on attack because he is our only attacking threat as you say. Should and would come off the bench if our 'marquee' player could get a visa.

The best thing about his play yesterday was his refusal to accept a working over by their scond rower. Sure he gave a penalty away but at least refused to be roughed up. Our other soft-as-shit forwards could take a lead from him.

I don't get why have Moa on the bench to play a total of 15 minutes a game.

Get him in the reserves for a couple of weeks to get some fitness and we may get 30-40 out of him.

waste of a bench spot at the moment

Motto of the week -

It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.

FWIW i don't think you'll ever see Moa getting any more gametime than he currently does. He is an out and out impact player and 10 minute bursts will be all he is ever capable of.

A palpable waste of money imo and bringing these type of players over clearly sends out the wrong signals to young British players.
