do you think Kearney may be thinking of answering our prayers???
Kearney denies he has spoken to Roosters officials about the post but his manager, Chris Orr, told Sydney's Daily Telegraph they would consider an offer from the Roosters.

"If the Roosters or any club come knocking, we will look at it," Orr said. "But Steve is in no hurry. He's not searching. Whatever job he decides to take, he will make sure it is the right one."

i met chris orr once on the gold coast, he's a great guy...does anyone remeber him playing for huddersfield for abit? looks like he's done a purcell and gone into player management, and looks like he's doing well getting kearney in his stable

I'm not turning this into another Cooke thread. Suffice it to say that some of what he's got up to in his private life I find despicable and far beyond a 'misdemeanour'.

He shafted the club, the fans, and his fellow players once already. You may be happy to drop your pants and bend over again. I'm not.

The sensible option would be to sign someone of similar quality of Cooke who would do a similar job, our club does not work that way though.

They signed head and dykes, both of whom were way better than cooke, but both of whom were made out of plasticine. My concern is long will rpove to be the same

Head and Dykes were halfbacks, both very good players but played in a different position to Cooke, Long is the same, he will do a lot of good in the middle of the park but Cooke was our only link out wide, everything we did in attack came through Cooke and we were a very good side, watch the season reviews from 03 to 06 to see how much we really relied on Cooke, people are thinking that Long will mean help us spread the ball wide more often but im not sure he will, he will be used at first reciever a decision maker but if he decides that he wants the ball wide we are still lacking a player who can miss a man, also our lack of creative backrowers dosnt and wont help, we could also do with a Chester type player, just look at the form of Yeaman after those 2 left.

Do you not think it may bring out the best in Richard Horne though linking with Long as he does with Pryce. I admit Horny is going to have to step his game up but surely the experience of Long could help him and Yeaman to run off him just as Cookie did?
