Good signing IF he can stay injury free, he seems to have been spending more and more time on the sidelines. If this means we can pick up a good quota centre and a top quality stand-off or fullback then we should compete next season

Quiet happy with the signing as Long is the type of player we need. Some may have concerns surrounding his age, but a good scrum half can be more effective much longer than other positions.

The key question for me is will we have the runners that will allow Long to play the type of game he is accustomed to?

We have been crying out for a proper scrum half for years, but just signing one will not solve our problems, we will need to change the way we play and run in numbers instead of ones. We will also have to be prepared to back up, if we don’t he will get creamed and look almost as bad as Thorman does, if that is possible.

I don’t see the need to go for an aussie half back for next year now, as I think this signing now gives the club a great opportunity to go out and get Thurstan for 2011 and beyoned.
