Dobson might not have been as good as Dykes or Head, but what he did do in SL, and it was something they couldn't, was turn up every week. The best players in the world are useless in the stand. This made Dobson a very valuable Super League player indeed as he could be relied upon to turn out good performances on a consistent basis - ideal for team building. This dependability is a very under-rated asset at times.

However as Dobson is now approaching an age when injuries do start catching up, plus he is a "high mileage" player in terms of games played, I would be rather wary about signing him now. Sad to say the dobbins had the best of him.

Ok zucc Dobson may not have made it in the nrl but on the other hand Keating has played in an nrl grand final I know which player I would rather have

head and dykes were both good when they managed to get on the field but we can't pin the next 3 years on another player with similar issues

I would agree with that.

What I meant was that they were more talented than Dobson. Dobson undoubtedly contributed more to Rovers than they did to us though, purely because he wasn't a crock.

Would Campese count on the quota ?. I know his family is from Italy and he did offer to play for the Azzuri , Not sure he ever did .

Campese is class, but it's just if we want to tie up a lengthy and expensive contract on someone who's not robust.

Morning papers indicate Kent and Pitts to Featherstone this week and us vying with Huddersfield for Jamie Ellis!!!!! There are certainly signs of a clear out being under way!
