We’ve gone backward under Tony Smith. What’s your evidence for him slowly sorting things out?

I’ll concede the revenue dry up is relevant, but the same challenge applies to the 9 clubs above us.

Are you for real???

When Tony Smith took on a squad he INHERITED, not built, we then start the season getting absolutely battered most notably in the Derby, fans were fearing the worst, he ended up gett8ng our hopes up of a play off finish which let's face it with that start would have been nothing short of miraculous!

Granted we didn't end up getting the place and the same old players from past years have let us down, he is ridding the club top to bottom of all its rotten core, Savelio, Wynne, Griffin, Evans the list goes on... he's bringing in younger hungrier players with points to prove. He is building the club back together and it will take 2-3 years IMO to get us back up there as a regular play off contender, it wasn't overnight success at Leeds, Huddersfield, Warrington or Rovers either but he left every single club in a hugely improved position so trust the process!!!

Sensible post, been watching Hull for sixty years and i have never seen a new coach having to sort a the mess out that Tony Smith has.He see's exactly what we see but his hands are tied by contracted players who were given longer contracts than they merited.Wayne Bennett could not have done any better with this team, especially the forwards.Things will get better and god willing i'll still be sat in my seat next year

Really feel a big part of our 'recruitment issues' aren't the ambitions of the club or indeed the money.

We are currently a hard sell to any aspiring player, we now have 3 successive poor seasons with capitulations every season - no hint of silverware or international recognition. Every decent player moving on will be seeking the best all round deal for them & their families. Sadly none of the potential recruits are FC Fans, I know its difficult to grasp but apart from the local lads ( who benefit from already living here & staying after retirement) they are doing a job of work.

Sadly our beloved hometown does not have the draw of the Mediterranean or even the bright lights of Manchester or Leeds. Hull City suffer from the same thing, paying a premium to get the players they want.

I have faith in AP & TS - I can remember near oblivion prior to the Gateshead merger.

For those screaming 'No Improvement' - tell me when we last beat Wigan, Saints & Wire in the same season ??? Hopefully those performances will repeat more regularly next season.

He's got super human strength. Something we lack in the forwards.

Gaz Ellis confirms in his book that Simon Grix is coming in next season. Says that Smith is stepping back a little from hands on coaching and that he wanted someone with more experience to plan and deliver the sessions.

Then what does Stan the man do?
I know Smith is getting on in age but he doesnt need anyone to push him around in a wheelchair yet.
So we get rid of Gaz Ellis and Smith now wants to call on Taylor to benefit from his experience.
You cant make it up

If you have been watching Hull Fc for sixty years you would have seen Brian Smith mould a team of really average players into a team that played for each other and were very difficult to beat.
Now that what i call a coach.
