OK that's less than a years wages that you paid to Reynolds but it's still good business.

How much do Rovers make per year on average on these events then, £500k?

I doubt its that high. The three cancelled during Covid lost us £250k, So i doubt this years concerts would net £250k each.

Rovers had 2 big concerts cancelled because of COVID and the club reported that had cost them £500,000.

Obviously it depends on how many concerts per year and how big a draw the artists are.

The Who and Rod Stewart may be of a certain generation but they still command a huge following, If I wanted to sit in my Rovers seat to watch them it would cost £160. All of that goes to the organisers plus all associated extras like food and drink.

Rovers just get their guaranteed £250,000 per concert no more no less.

Re: Pearson : Tue Apr 18, 2023 8:33 pm
the guarantee must have gone up a lot then as the three concerts cancelled because of covid cost £250,000 in total not £250,000 each

“The deals we have with those three concerts will net us at least £250,000 for those three events so you can image the size of that hole.”

*sorry East you have already pointed that out.

The article doesn’t say anything about who pays for the police, stewarding, insurance cover ..
I would have thought kr would pay that as ground owners.
Simon Moran, the Warrington owner is a music promoter and their ground capacity is bigger than kr ground.
Makes you wonder with his contacts why he has not held concerts if there’s that much profit to be made.

So how come Hull Kingston Rovers (Events) Ltd has only made £136k in 5 years of trading?

The years of income, doesn't match the dates we've held concerts? This subsidiary of Rovers is clearly used for something different to the organisation of concerts.

I think you maybe right if I’m being honest. I don’t doubt he has made mistakes and some big ones however he has always been prepared to put his money in.
I think he is frustrated, annoyed and disappointed much like us all. I think he knows he’s made the mistakes too and wasted time and money with those mistakes. Above all I think he’s needed help and support at the top as it’s an awful lot to take on and handle on your own.
In regards the comment about his last coaching appointment I would imagine it’s more to do with looking at taking a back seat in these matters rather than being the one solely responsible as I imagine the pressure is immense on his shoulders.

I think it would help if he communicated a little more with the fan base rather than the emotional outbursts we have seen.
The fact is there are very few people/investors that would want to take on a SL club due to the way the sport is run and it takes money rather than makes money.

What is a concern is if we are genuinely spending up to 2.1M on the squad then that really is/has been wasted on the players over the past 3-4yrs. I hope some of the players actually read his statement and their consciences give them a kick up the ar5e.

Just think AP needs to be honest and open with the clubs fan base without any sales pitch thrown in.

Spot on

Pearson has been alot better than likes of hetherington/rule/plumber

People wanting Pearson gone has careful what you wish for written all over it

Cause we'd struggle to get better than him

The players are the sole problem no one else

The fish rots from the head …..simple as that
He’s been there too long for it not to be his fault

He’s just a really nice guy and too soft as a
Man Manager

Softness breeds laziness and after that a cancer breaks out from the laziness

AP let this happen slowly over 10 years and presently only Tony Smith can help Adam

Are you deserting AP in his hour of need?
Thought you and him were tight mate?
You were always wanging him an e-mail back in the day..........
