You know what they say. If can win whilst playing poorly, it's the sign of a good team.

First points on the board. It's onwards and upwards.

Bring on the Dragons for us to slayer.

I couldn't decide if London are better than they are estimated or we are poorer than I thought?

I couldn't understand Houghton being shoehorned back into the team. We were out of balance just to accommodate him.
NZ international hooker or an ageing non international hooker, it's a no brainer for me.
Nu at 9, Smith at 6 and throw young Charles in at 7 to start. It's good for his development and shows faith in the youngsters because we need their youthful exuberance desperately in our team of clueless plodders.
Smith may not have the financial backing for expensive signings but defensive line speed, attacking structure and discipline are all within his remit and can anyone say there's been any improvement?
We seem to be spending more on backroom staff but not seeing an improvement in the team.
Not sure Tony is the man any longer, has the game passed him by?

Morgan Smith has been out best half this season. On reflection it seems an odd signing if we're carry on trying to play Nu in the halves.

Asked by Hull Live why Hoy missed out, Smith replied: "It was just a team selection call based on combinations. It was an opportunity for somebody else to show what they can do in the half-back position.

Is he the new Joe Biden?
He cant remember we have already tried Smith/Brown combo

smith has it totally wrong with brown.hes not a 7 and would be far better in a heremia type role at 9.why he is playing houghton at 9 and keeping him on the all match is beyond me,i thought we de got past all that.even in his post match talk he gives morgan smith the plaudets, but adds,he can play a few positions.we need a few specialists in the side ,not a team of players who can play in a few positions.

Id forgotten about Heremaia, time flies! but I think you are right Brown could do a similar type of role off the bench.

Theres a bad smell about Hoy missing out, he has been in the better half of performers the first two games (not a big accolade I know!) and we were short of numbers, something has gone on but what I dont know

Relieved to get the win. As others have mentioned, some promising performances from some players, however we had this game all but won at half time and almost found a way to lose.

Our discipline is awful. Too many penalties and six agains every week.

Can’t understand why Hoy didn’t play. Played ok so far this season and didn’t warrant being dropped. We need as much stability as we can, whilst we wait for the suspended/injured players to return, so dropping Hoy doesn’t look justified.

Tough game next week at Cats. The real test will be Leigh at home in a fortnight. We’ll have at least key players back, so a major improvement should be expected.

Finally, a big shout out to London, with a very spirited performance. Also respect to the London fans who brought more fans than Huddersfield and made more noise.

Tex was also relegated to supervising the half time Kick the Ball in the Van competition, which is the ultimate go and sit on the naughty step. Looked quite rightly p1ssed off. I remember Kane Evans getting that gig last season, a few weeks before he went home.

Well that was hard work to watch and it was hardly Saints or Wigan we were playing, but a team that many pundits predicted wouldn't win a game all year. The fact we actually managed to win a game in the last minute has to be a plus but otherwise we just played dumb rugby, ran down blind alleys and read the game poorly. Today I think any other Super League club would have beaten us easily. Yes we have injuries and suspensions but it's hardly inspiring is it? It's going to be a long tough season and one that would threaten our coach under normal circumstances but with the coach we have who else do we get. Getting rid isn't the answer. Whether its our financial situation or what I don't know but we have let so many good players go and today showed that we haven't replace any of them like for like. we have some good youth but without some real inspiring father figures out there they'll eventually struggle. particularly when they re surrounded by colleagues who show a lack of any sort of direction. Catalan will be tough indeed. sadly and rather embarrassingly I like many on here have never felts so low about a season.

Getting rid could be the only answer rather than sit on mediocrity
My opinion is he is living off his past success but the game has passed him by.
Gaz Ellis was no coach but neither is Gene and i know which one i would have kept at the club.
Tell me what Smith has done other than get rid of a number of players who were already in their last year of service.so thats not difficult and make us into the most undisciplined team in S/L.
Nothing on the field shows any improvement whether thats in structure, defence or attack.
The promotion of youth is not Smith choice it has been necessarry due to suspensions and injury,in fact for whatever reason he is holding back one of our better youth players in Balmforth.
I welcomed the Smith appointment but just dont think the passion is there. If it was he would have sorted out the onfield indicipline last season never mind this season

Oh do shut up. We win and you’re negative. “Fans” like you are just part of the problem
