The Financial Times is reporting (paywall, but not been able to find elsewhere online) speculation that BT might be set to buy the Hull area fixed line telecoms monopoly Kingston Communications / KCom, in an era where regulatory pressure has significantly lightened on BT in an unbundling world where many other providers are competing elsewhere in the UK telecommunications landscape. It got a bad report in Which? magazines online survey too.

Was having the same problem with it dropping me out, as I work from home alot it was no good this happeneing, ring 602555 and tell them, they increased the noise level(db's) which should steady the broadband signal and make it more stable. So far it has been ok.

You can actually get Virgin in Hull only telephone and internet services but the internet is actually available unlimited only a 20mb connection though

What they actually did was turn your line speed down. That increases the SNR and makes the connection more stable.

Anything 6dB and above should be stable, sometimes a bit lower is also ok.
