Well times might be changing for some but not enough to stop the owners and the Chief Exec's of both clubs being concerned enough to pursue the decision with the Reach group.

Dan Tomlinson not mentioned in the list of redundancies from James Smailes. Wonder if he's kept his job

I'm sure he already confirmed on Twitter he had been made redundant. Unless there has been a change of plans and he's now been kept on

Edit: just checked his twitter. He said "On Wednesday, I found out I am one of 450 Reach PLC roles at risk of redundancy from Jan 15."
So first of all it sounds like it wasn't a definite as he was only "at risk of" and it wouldn't be in effect until mid January anyway. Appleyard made his last post on Hull Live today so he has definitely now gone. Seems like Dan still has at least a month longer.

Gwilym Lloyd leaving RH at Christmas too?

I’ve told this story before but I’ll risk it again, the first time away to Catalans we were sat outside the big cafe near the old jailhouse. I went to the loo and whilst washing my hands, Gwilym was trying to get the taps to work waving his hands under the tap, he said “how do you do it”, I replied “ magic” and walked away. I looked behind and he’d moved to the sink I’d used, still waving his hands under the tap, they were controlled by a big orange foot switch

I noticed this morning their headline article was about not letting the BBC silence local media such as Hull Live but seems its now been removed, Not surprised if they have pulled it as it was just utter tosh and most comments I'd read were slating Hull Live/Reach PLC for the poor efforts and they were reaping what they themselves had sown.
The fact they are getting rid of two sports reporters for two top flight RL teams in the city just proves they have no interest in the local area or any other local areas where they are letting go of so many reporters.

Now the article is back but with all the comments removed and comments section disabled. So they have a nerve pleading about being silenced when that's all Hull Live /Reach PLC do to the local people themselves, think the irony is obviously lost on them.

Good point about the game overall. And the fact they are trying to make a contact sport more sterile ain’t gonna help. If you box you know your going to get hit on the head, same goes for rugby, you know your going to get hurt at some point.
