Never criticise a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes.........that way you'll be a mile away and have his shoes.

And it just about sums it up for me. He's quality we've lacked for so long now and i feel he has the potential to bring us through. And im pretty sure he will. Quality signing im happy...

Also happy with his comments: "It really excites me and I really believe it is going to revitalise my career."

Lets up he revitalises us!!!

need the forwards to protect him as he is injury prone but not a bad signing considering visa issues with aussies and he has a kicking game! my only concern is after playing 12 years at one club how will he fit in to Hull and will he be the same player? Jamie Lyon might come to hull if longy can twist his arm

Suzie, I agree with you and luckily for us the club do not see Horney as a fullback.
The club are already in talks with a full back and if it comes off it will be HUGE !!
Before anyone asks how do I know this. Lets just say I knew about Longy last week and told you all, hence posting the below.

That thread makes interesting reading. :)

Motto of the week -

I'm waiting for the announcement now of a new joint partnership with NHS-Hull for a scheme to help the victims of gambling addictions :)

"Viva Ben Flower, Viva Ben Flower, could have won the cup but you Messed it up Viva Ben Flower"

: Mon Jun 01, 2009 11:55 am
St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus said: “We fully respect Sean’s decision.

"He has secured a two-year deal on very good terms and we wish him well.

“We have a number of very exciting young players who next season will be commanding regular, first choice, selection and they must be given every opportunity in the long term interests of the club. St Helens are committed to this policy.

“That said, we must pay full tribute to the incredible achievements of Sean Long over the last 12 years at the Saints.

"He is one of the most decorated players in the history of the club and has been pivotal to its pre-eminence in the Super League era.

"His talent has been at the centre of all we have achieved and his personality has always enlivened the place.

“He still has three more pieces of silverware to aim at this season and I know that the St Helens fans will show their support for this truly great player. "He will leave as a personal friend of many of us and as a club legend
