| Quote bonaire="bonaire"what you have missed and has to down to the coaching staff at London is they have been getting better has the season evolved are are actually competing with teams much higher in the competition'"
Because of the self belief that grows in the team when they have taken teams close and or beaten them. As I said, they have been able to play, unfettered by the pressures felt by others. Good on them and they deserve the praise.
Obviously the coaches take credit too, but it’s far easier to coach a side that has self belief.
IMO when the drawbridge was pulled up it should have been for an initial 2, possibly 3 years before anyone was relegated. Or the league should’ve expanded to 14 teams.

| Quote ComeOnYouUll="ComeOnYouUll"Grix has pretty much admitted he doesn't know what the answer is on fixing the issues.
He has inherited a poor squad but he has done little to improve things aside from that mini spell when we beat Leeds and Wigan as well as putting in reasonable efforts in defeat to Warrington, Salford and Catalans. He's been in charge for some horror shows though such as last night, London away, Magic and Saints away, some our our worst performance this season.
His post match interview on Sky Sports lasy night summed him up for me. Stuart Pyke asked him what he had to say about the game. "Huh! Not much!" Imagine this leader of men trying to motivate a side.
Quote ComeOnYouUllHis win record as it stands is 11%, the worst in the club's history, even worse than Steve Crooks and Tony Gordon.'" '"
Talk about being damned by a single statistic! Even worse than Tony Gordon, the humiliation!!
Grix clearly took on a calamitous situation and, mid period appeared to have steadied the ship a touch. We had stopped the one-way traffic games at least, even if we were still losing most weeks. But since the start of August we have once more started going backwards at a great rate of knots, our annual end of season slump once more! with all of our early season failings returning with a vengeance.
His attitude in recent weeks seems to suggest that he's given up, along with everyone else. Maybe he thinks this is a completely lost cause, maybe he's been told he will be surplus to requirement for next year, maybe he's decided this is now a pointless waste of his time and energy, who knows, but all the indications are he's given up and that is then bound to translate through to everyone else involved on the playing side of things.
He can go for me. The club is now suffocated by a losing culture/attitude and he is a part of that, even as a temporary appointment.

| Quote DSJ1983="DSJ1983"Nah Im not having that, London are just miles better but fans just won’t accept it and need something easy to blame. It will be the same next season with Cartwright, a few losses in and fans with zero experience of the game who see nothing on the training field will be questioning things like the pre season, the attacking/defensive drills and the preparation methods of a bloke who’s been in the game for 50 years. It’s not just Hull fans it’s just the nature of the game when sides are in trouble, we just happen to be awful at the moment.
Martin and possibly Walker are our only backs/spine players who get near that London side and that’s been generous. Forwards are maybe matched on paper and reputation but they just have miles more skill and creativity in the backs.'"
They're looking better because they're better coached and more motivated

| I thought grix was doing OK but it's gone downhill rapidly. My view has always been that no matter how lacking in ability your team is, there is no excuse for a lack of motivation and any group of players should be able to defend well. Grix has failed on both counts and I think k keeping him next year would be a mistake. We need a clean slate.
He is so lacking in energy when he speaks and the way the tea, plays mirrors it

That same observation could also be applied to us. We know we can't relegated, it's been patently obvious since Easter that we would not be in the play-offs, so it could be argued that since April we have merely been playing games on an individual basis without any tangible pressure being applied to us.
Across that middle-period of the season we did appear to making some small improvements; a couple of welcome wins, a feeling that we were at least being competitive even in those games when we lost (Cas, Hudds, Wire, Salford, etc.). You would have thought that after the Wigan victory there must have been a modicum of self-belief within the playing group, in the context of a still poor season.
But in recent weeks we've gone back to how things were in the dog-days of Smith's reign, with the coach seemingly unable to alter the mind-set of the players while giving the impression of not particularly caring anyway. This is the complete opposite to a London outfit who have taken their situation and turned it into a positive. Whatever the situation, we are once more under-performing to a massive degree even without any pressure being especially applied to us.
The fact that Hull Fc, as a club, appeared to have given up completely is totally down to internal reasons and personnel with their attendant attitude rather than any external pressures from other sides. This is all our own making, no-one else.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying we haven’t been abjectly poop.
There are a myriad of reasons and poor recruitment is just one. Players not appearing to give 100% and others not wanting to be here are also in there. Poor, if not seemingly nonexistent coaching is another.
However, no relegation doesn’t mean no pressure when you play for Hull FC.

| Grix started off ok but it seems (and there could be any number of reasons) we have once again reverted to type. Whilst we have been poor and unlikely to gain (m)any wins we have once again even with our poor performances seen the summer slump once more which is quite shocking given how we could get worse than pre July.
I think the reality is next season will be an another long season as we still have the bulk of the 17 from yesterday here next season.

How does aiming vitriol at the owner or anyone at the club solve anything? What are you wanting him to do?
Do you not think that stuff like this is only going to put off potential investors/buyers? It’s obvious the fanbase has got a bad rap amongst players, I’m really worried it’s going to make any potential lifeline for the club to think twice.
